Band Bio

K Republic is the American spinoff of platinum-selling Russian rock group Kukryniksy. Originally signed to a Warner Brothers affiliated label in Russia, Kukryniksy has been a popular staple on the Russian rock scene since 1999. In 2008, Alex Gorshenev, the frontman for Kukryniksy was introduced to American singer-songwriter Stephanie Starr and the idea for an English language crossover album was born. The new project became K Republic, and the forthcoming artistic concept hinged on the chemistry between Gorshenev and Starr, a male-female vocal partnership that produces a softer, more ethereal sound. Though formed from the original members of Kukryniksy with the addition of Starr, K Republic is a major artistic departure and is the only joint Russian-American rock band in the world. As such, K Republic has attracted lots of press attention in Eastern Europe, including a write up in Rolling Stone Magazine. The publication tagged K Republic a "gothic-country" act. K Republic's maxi single Last Resort was released in December 2009. The full-length LP, "All Those Things I Left Behind" is scheduled for release on September 24th, 2010.

	Alexei "Alex" Gorshenev: Vocalist for K Alex was born in Russia's far east, and is a singer, composer, and the creative force of K. His love of philosophy and literature has found a powerful voice in song, as evidenced by Ks haunting music. Alex enjoys a successful musical career in Russia as the lead singer for Kukryniksi, but finds that life with K has brought new and unexpected muses.
	Stephanie "Steph" Starr: Vocalist for K Steph is a native Texan, but has traveled the world over. A trained musician, Steph is a singer and the lyricist for K, and likes that she's still hanging out with the bad boys. She has always said that good music goes right to the soul and is not constrained by language or style. Steph lives in Colorado and finds that the earth sounds different at 12,000 feet.
	Dimitri "Dima" Gusev: Lead Guitarist for K Dima was born in Saint-Petersbug but looks like he was born in L.A., which makes him the perfect, glamorous lead guitarist for K. Dima is a melodic soul who composes many of Ks songs. He is currently working on a new musical project that will showcase some of his harder, edgier, original work.
	Dimitri "Dima" Oganyan: Bass guitarist for K Dima Oganyan is the bass guitarist for K and keeps everyone on the right beat. Dima is heavily involved in making sure that Ks final product is up to par. You will usually find Dima wearing some kind of attire featuring flames, which the women seem to love.
	Michael "Misha" Fomin: Drummer for K Born outside of Moscow, Misha recently packed up, told everyone good-bye and got a one-way ticket to Saint-Petersburg where he hooked up with K. Misha is a self-taught drummer living his dream.
